KIWANIS MEETUP

Welcome to the Kiwanis Uptown website!
If you're interested in making an impact, becoming a leader, helping others and meeting new people, please contact us for more details about membership.
We meet bi-weekly the first and third Wednesday of the month in Uptown Charlotte to socialize, network and discuss service projects and fundraising opportunities.

      Come meet and greet your fellow Kiwanis Uptown and Charlotte Kiwanis Club members at our membership social!
This is a great opportunity to chat it up with our parent club membership and discuss ideas and make connections.

We will first meet at Buck Little's House (2909 Rockbrook Dr., Charlotte) at 6:00PM for wine.

· CLUB UPDATE - Important:
      As you know, Kiwanis Uptown determined it is in the club’s best interest to resign our charter and become a satellite group of a larger Charlotte area club. We are happy to report several clubs expressed interest in partnering with us.
We have been meeting and communicating with interested clubs including the Ballantyne, Central Charlotte and Mecklenburg clubs.

After a review of each proposal, a bit of lively discussion, and a majority vote, it was decided that we would become a satellite of the Kiwanis Club of Charlotte.
We are very excited about this opportunity and look forward to continuing to work with and support all of the area clubs under our new model.
Over the next few weeks, we will be working to transition into this new partnership. There are several opportunities to get involved and take leadership roles in this new structure, so if you are interested in taking on a bigger role in the success of Kiwanis Uptown, please let me know. You will also see additional communication from Jaclyn or myself over the next few weeks on our transition plan, membership renewal (yep, it is that time), and other details related to this change.

· Kiwanis Uptown Calendar!
      A new Kiwanis Uptown online calendar has just launched!
The new calendar has a grid style layout for each month with color coded categories for better planning and visualization of upcoming events. We will include more Kiwanis Events on the calendar including notable events in the Carolinas District, officer meetings and committee meetings in addition to club meetings and events.
