At this meeting we will cover: · Thanksgiving service project details to feed a family · Red Hot Turkey Bash! · Christmas Party details! · Christmas Service projects - yes, tis the season! · Dues information for 2009 We meet at Fox and Hound in Uptown in the downstairs room. Red Hot Turkey Bash is a premier social event and fundraiser to benefit the Charlotte chapter of the American Red Cross.
Tickets are $25 in advance (before 11/20) or $30 at the door. |

Our next Bobcats fundraiser is Saturday, Nov. 22nd! If you are available to volunteer, please signup now for Bobcats vs Milwaukee concessions. It is important we at least 8-10 people. In celebration of Thanksgiving, we plan to prepare a Thanksgiving meal for a family in need. At the 11/19 Kiwanis meeting please bring a non-perisable food item or money to help with the meal. We will meet at Bryan Richards house on Sunday, 11/23 at 5:00pm to cook the food that will be delivered on Monday. To help with cooking and preparation, CLICK HERE to signup. |

Our club has grown up! No longer are we a new club in the eyes of Kiwanis International We will begin paying regular dues for all members starting in 2009. Club dues are $120/year or $35/quarter. Dues collection will begin at the Dec 3rd meeting. At the Dec. 17th meeting, we will draw one of the yearly checks and one of the quarterly checks received and tear them up. The club will cover their dues for the year or that quarter. NOTE: Cash payment is also accepted, a Kiwanis Uptown check will be substituted for the drawings. First quarter dues or yearly dues must be received by Jan 31st. Yearly dues will not be accepted after Jan 31st. |

Join me in congratulating Rachel in becoming the Division 6 Lt. Governor for the Carolinas District of Kiwanis! The Lt. Governor is responsible for helping clubs in our division with growth, leadership and planning for the future, as well as bring any concerns or issues the clubs may have to the District Board. Thanks to everyone who attended our organizational meeting! This meeting officially organized our club with Kiwanis International. All current paid members received their charter member pins last night and were established as charter members of Kiwanis Uptown. In addition, many points of business were voted on. | · Kiwanis Uptown Membership Application and Dues Info | |

If you have not already done so, please fill out a membership application and bring it to the next meeting or have a friend turn in the application for you. Sign up now and you will be listed as a charter member of this Kiwanis Club! Dues will be $75 initially and then $35 quarterly after that which will cover both Kiwanis International and Carolina District Dues plus administrative expenses. The first quarterly dues will be due in January of 2009. Payment can be made by check to Kiwanis Uptown or cash. E-mail Richard Hagood (rhagood@alumni.clemson.edu) with any questions. |
